Intel Announces a "Chip Breakthrough"

Intel, the "giant" of chips and computer processors, recently made the company's most significant technology announcement of the year. They claim a major breakthrough in chip design; 3-D transistors.

Transistors, also known as microscopic switches, are typically flat structures on the surface of processors. But now, Intel has built a tiny silicon fin that juts out from the transistors. The new technology will boost the transfer of current across processors- making the computer that much better.

In other news, Intel shares finished the week down 1.52%.

Leave a comment with your thoughts on this! How will it affect future computers and processors?
